Seven local law enforcement agencies will converge in the parking lot of the BXtra here for a Community Engagement Day Sept. 13.

The event will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and will allow police and community support officers from the Ministry of Defence, Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire, British Transport Police and 100th and 48th Security Forces squadrons to answer questions from residents who live in housing covered by the forces.

"I came up with the idea for this about six months ago," said MOD Police Constable Paul Glover, community safety and crime reduction officer. "The aim is to get all police forces in one place on one occasion to address any questions or concerns anyone from RAFs Mildenhall or Lakenheath may have."

Event organizers plan to host this event every three months. Plans for the future are to hold one on RAF Mildenhall and another on RAF Lakenheath. In addition to knowlegeable representatives from each service on hand to answer questions, there will also be displays of various police vehicles and informaiton on crime reduction practices.

"This will really enable the housing and dorm residents to meet the policing agency that covers their location," said Constable Glover. "It should be very successful."
