AFPC News: Joan Orr Spouse of the Year Award; U.S. Air Force Academy instructor positions

RANDOLPH AIR FORCE BASE, Texas --  Air Force members can now submit nominations for their spouse as the 2010 Joan Orr Air Force Spouse of the Year. The period of the award runs Jan. 1 - Dec. 31, 2009.

The Joan Orr Spouse of the Year Award is sponsored by the Air Force Association and

honors the significant contributions made by non-military spouses of Air Force military members. The nominee's husband or wife must currently be serving in the Air Force (Regular Air Force, Guard or Reserve).

Organizations and base-level personnel must contact their Major Command, Field Operating Unit, Direct Reporting Unit, or equivalent for the appropriate application due date and additional information regarding nomination procedures. Each MAJCOM, FOA, or DRU may submit one nomination. Completed nominations must be sent to AFPC by March 1, 2010.

U.S. Air Force Academy instructor positions available

The Air Force Personnel Center is soliciting applications for officers interested in serving as instructors at the U.S. Air Force Academy. Limited positions are also available at the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, N.Y. and the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md.

Interested first lieutenants through lieutenant colonels who meet all eligibility and time-on-station requirements should submit an application to AFPC no later than Sept. 30. This assignment is considered a minimum three-year, controlled, special duty tour.
