The look of the base's public Web site is slated to change July 20.

According to a Defense Media Activity story, the change is part of the Air Force's migration of all base public Web sites to a new layout, designed to provide a larger layout, larger photos, new technology and less clutter. It offers users new content types with the inclusion of slideshows, new video capability and improved search capability.

"Following the initial migration, we will be working to adjust the design to make it as customer friendly as possible," Geoff Janes, 100th Air Refueling Wing Public Affairs Internal Information Division chief, said. "We will be keeping all of the features we currently have, but the new layout should improve navigation and provide a more aesthetically pleasing look for our readers."

The Air Force Public Web Program is a service-wide effort to consolidate all public Web sites to improve security, reduce redundancy, increase performance and standardize site appearance across the 315 sites in the program. AF.mil was the first to roll out with the new design, and the remainder of the Air Force's sites will migrate to the new format before the end of 2009.
