Mildenhall Library offers Internet, books and a lot more

RAF MILDENHALL, England --  The RAF Mildenhall Library offers a wealth of resources for an extremely low price - free. 

In times when money is extremely tight, the library is becoming a popular place to visit for more than just books. 

"The Library enhances quality of life for Airmen by providing educational and recreational resources in a variety of formats," Mark Moore, stated in an e-mail. "Whether you're looking for material to help earn college credit, a DVD to watch while relaxing, free wireless networking or a computer lab, RAF Mildenhall Library has something for you." 

Family events are among the many resources available to families. Mr. Moore said 

"From October to May, we offer at least one special program a month for families," Mr. Moore said "In April, we'll have two special programs. Library Egg-stravaganza will be an Easter egg hunt and will be held outside the library (weather permitting) April 9 from 4 to 5 p.m. We'll also have a Mad Scientist Lab and Pizza Party celebrating National Library Week April 17 from 5 to 6 p.m." 

Airmen with dependents are not the only ones who can benefit from the libraries services. 

The library offers a fully functional computer lab with both printing and scanning capabilities. For those who own a laptop, WiFi is available throughout the library. That means Airmen living in the dormitories can go there to study or just surf the Web in a quiet place. For those wishing to further their education, College Level Exam Programs are also available. 

All in all, the library can be a great resource for anyone. Whether a person is looking to improve themselves or their children, be entertained or just surf the Internet, the seven-member civilian staff is there to help you. 

Its hours are as follows: 

Mondays through Thursdays 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Fridays 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Saturdays and Sundays 12 to 6 p.m.

Family/Goal Days 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
