May 100th Air Refueling Wing Public Affairs RAF MILDENHALL, England -- Shuttle service from RAF Mildenhall and RAF Lakenheath to London's Gatwick airport will only run on weekends beginning April 1. Use of the shuttle, which usually travels daily from the two bases to and from Gatwick, has dropped significantly since most travelers fly into Heathrow, said Frances Allen, 48th Logistics Readiness Squadron Passenger Transportation Clerk. Those travelling into Gatwick have several options available for travelling to their base, including train and taxi, which are reimbursable for members on official travel orders. The bus will continue to run on Saturdays and Sundays to accommodate weekend travelers, picking up and dropping off passengers at the current times. The schedule is: 4:30 a.m. - Pick up at RAF Lakenheath long-term parking 4:45 a.m. - Pick up at RAF Lakenheath billeting 5:15 a.m. - Pick up at RAF Mildenhall long-term parking 5:30 a.m. - Pick up at RAF Mildenhall billeting 8 a.m. - Arrive at Gatwick North Terminal 10 a.m. - Depart Gatwick North Terminal 12:30 p.m. - Arrive at RAF Mildenhall 1 p.m. - Arrive at RAF Lakenheath
