Those wishing to find out when they can expect their refund checks can now find out by clicking here.

Additionally, the RAF Mildenhall Volunteer Income Tax Assistance office is still making filing easier.

Team Mildenhall members may contact their unit tax representative (Click here) or they can make an appointment with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance office - which will be open Feb. 2 through June 15 - by calling the tax office at DSN 238-1978. The VITA hours of operation will be 9 a.m to 4 p.m., Mondays through Thursdays.

Likewise, the RAF Mildenhall Tax Center is beginning a new initiative this year that could change the way people do their taxes. No appointments are necessary, and there is no waiting in line.

All people will need to do is include is scan the required documents listed below, and attach them in an e-mail to 100arw.taxcenter@mildenhall.af.mil with their name in the subject line.

Required forms:

Tax Intake Sheet (Click here)

2007 Tax return

W-2's

1099 Forms

and any other forms, etc.

A copy of the front and back of you and your family's ID card

After those documents are submitted, the VITA Tax Center will complete the tax returns. In an effort to compile statistical data on services provided, those who use the service are asked to fill out  a consent form (click here) indicating whether or not they consent to their tax return infomation being used for statistical purposes.

Once the tax center has completed the taxes, people using the service will need to come to the VITA Tax Center, located above the Sports Store, and sign the tax return. Once it's signed, the VITA office wil e-file the tax return.

Editor's note: Due to the complexity and needs of some tax returns, we may not be able to complete your taxes. If we cannot complete your taxes, we will advise you seek the services of a paid professional tax preparer.
