Post office announces holiday hours, services

RAF MILDENHALL, England --

The 100th Communications Squadron Post Office will have reduced hours during the holiday season. In order to provide the best service to their customers, they advise mailing packages early. 

To ensure items arrive by to continental United States by Dec. 25, they should be mailed by the following dates: 

· Space available - Nov. 28
· Parcel post - Dec. 4
· Priority/first class mail - Dec. 11
· Express mail - Dec. 18 

For those sending five packages or more, the post office staff recommends making an appointment to mail items before normal customer hours. This will cut down on waiting time. 

Outbound mailing/financial services 

From Nov. 10 to Dec. 13, hours are as follows: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; 8 to 8:30 a.m., appointments only; Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Sundays, Closed. Customer service will be closed Saturdays. 

Normal operating hours will be resumed Dec. 15. 

Parcel pick-up window 

From Nov. 10 to Dec. 24, hours are as follows: Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Sundays, Closed. 

Normal operating hours will be resumed Dec. 29. 

During wing goal and family days, the post office will operate as weekend hours. 

On Nov. 11, Veterans Day and Nov. 27, Thanksgiving Day the post office will be closed. Nov. 28, a family day, package pick-up and financial services will be open 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. 

The post office will be closed for business Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. 

Dec. 24, package pick-up will be open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Financial services will be closed. 

Dec. 26 and 27, package pick-up will open 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; financial services will open 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. 

Normal hours will resume Dec. 29, except for New Year's Day.
