Mildenhall youth receives $1,000 check for Extreme Summer

RAF MILDENHALL, England --  The summer just got hotter for Zackary Lau, an RAF Mildenhall youth who won $1,000 for participating in the annual points-for-participation Extreme Summer contest. 

Everyone in U.S. Air Forces in Europe enrolled in Extreme Summer and who had 300 points or more in their account qualified for a random drawing in their category to win the monthly $1,000 cash prize. 

Extreme Summer is a USAFE Services annual program open to all Department of Defense identification card holders 8-years-old and older. This unique program provides opportunities for youth, teens and adults to earn game pieces worth 50 points each for participating in services-sponsored summer activities. 

These points are then loaded into the Extreme Summer website at www.extremesummer.com. The more points earned, the greater the chance of winning instant prizes, monthly prizes or the overall grand prize and runner-up prizes in each category. There are four entry categories: youths - 8-12 years old, teens - 13-18, E1-E5 and spouses, E6 and above, all officers, civilians and spouses. There are hundreds of activities and special events for all kinds of interests.

Grand prize packages for youth and teens
The winner of the grand prize in the youth or teen category and up to three family members or friends will be on their way to Walt Disney World® Resort in Orlando, Fla., for an all-expense-paid trip.

Grand prize packages for adults 
USAFE Services and Exchange New Car Sales have teamed up to offer a 2008 Ford Focus as the grand prize. 

1st place prize for adults
Four 1st place winners (two winners per adult entry category) receive VIP Gold tickets to a NASCAR Nextel race at Atlanta Motor Speedway. This prize includes round-trip airfare, hotel accommodations, rental car, pit passes, and a chance to meet NASCAR drivers.

Monthly prizes
Each month there will be four $1,000 cash prizes awarded - one prize per entry category. Everyone with 300 points or more per month goes in for a random drawing for the $1,000 cash prize. Monthly prizes will be awarded in June, July and August.
