RAF MILDENHALL, England --  Retired? Looking for a rewarding career and miss the Air Force? Air Force Junior ROTC has just the job you've been looking for.

AFJROTC has instructor opportunities for retired officers and NCOs. Currently JROTC has more than 50 enlisted instructor and 60 officer instructor positions open. There are 869 units worldwide, and 10 new units will open up for the next school year. More than 101,000 students are enrolled in AFJROTC.

Teaching AF JROTC in a high school is an excellent opportunity to share your experience and leadership skills with America's future leaders as well as imparting the Air Force's core values.

All applicants must be retired from active duty less than five years from the effective date of employment (may be waived in some cases). If still on active duty, applicants must have applied for retirement to be effective within six months.

Instructors must meet Air Force weight and body fat standards and have high standards of military bearing, appearance and moral character. Officers must have a bachelor's degree or higher, and NCOs must have a high school diploma as a minimum and obtain an associate's degree within five years of employment. Additional education degrees and teacher certification are an advantage and may be required by some school districts.

Instructors wear the Air Force uniform and are expected to maintain appearance standards. In addition, they receive, at a minimum, a salary equal to the difference between their retirement pay and their active-duty pay and allowances.
