While the sanctuary has been open for services and parishioners for some time, the chapel staff temporarily relocated to offices behind 3rd Air Force. The Airmen are slated to completely move back into the chapel by Monday, as contractors complete the finishing touches and cleanup.

Changes to the chapel include a renovated sanctuary and the addition of an office.

"It has been completely renovated," said Emma Doel, 100th Air Refueling Wing chapel. "We've got new heating, new carpet and new lighting. The sanctuary has a new ceiling, it's now painted white. The pews have been refurbished. It's been re-carpeted - it's got new limestone around the altar and new limestone in the carpet, so it's lovely."

In addition, another office has been added to the chapel.

"I hope people will bear with us during this time of transition, and I hope they'll love this building as much as we will," Ms. Doel said.

According to Ch. (Lt. Col.) Michael Moore, 100th ARW chaplain, the chapel staff and a score of volunteers have been of immeasurable help moving out of the old facility and moving into the new facility.

"Without the Herculean efforts of our volunteers and the tireless coordination efforts of Emma Doel, Staff Sgt. Lyle Ruthford (100th ARW chapel), and Mr. Mark Poynter (100th Civil Engineer Squadron) working with the contractors, this would not have been possible," the chaplain said. "This will be a tremendous addition to the RAF Mildenhall community and should be a blessing for years to come."
