Senior leadership recently awarded $1,000 to dorm residents following a quarterly dormatory competition here Jan. 28.

Airmen with the 100th Maintenance Squadron were awarded the cash prize to use for quality-of-life improvements for their dorm, Building 111.

The panel of judges -- comprised of a group commander, squadron commander, a first sergeant and Top 3 and Team 56 representatives -- took such inputs as overall cleanliness and pride into consideration to help decide the winner.

According to Chief Master Sgt. Michael Warner, 100th Air Refueling Wing command chief, the quarterly competitions are a healthy part of dorm life.

"This is a chance for them to come together and try to make it the best dorm they possibly can," he said. "It's a part of that military community."

Building 107, housing residents of the 100th Security Forces Squadron, was named runner up and was awarded $500 for quality-of-life improvements.
