Gen. Roger Brady, U.S. Air Forces in Europe commander, visited Airmen throughout the command, briefing Airmen at RAF Mildenhall Feb. 1.

While here, the general interacted with Airmen and hosted an Airmen's call at the base theater, where he briefed Airmen about his position and his role in issues directly affecting them.

Topics included his priorities as the major command's new commander, winning today, building for tomorrow, and preparing Airmen always.

The commander emphasized that USAFE is important to U.S. Central Command winning the Global War on Terrorism.

"We have a lot on our plates," General Brady said. "We're a huge part of the (intelligence/communications) infrastructure and force structure that the Air Force has today. A lot of work in the CENTCOM (area of responsibility) has been downloaded to us in USAFE."

General Brady went on to emphasize that RAF Mildenhall's mission is becoming an increasingly critical part of USAFE's mission.

"USAFE is also a strategic mobility hub," he said. "RAF Mildenhall is a huge part of that. We use you a lot, so it's very much an air mobility theater, a greater degree than it perhaps has been in the past."

The general followed his briefing with a question-and-answer session. This gave Airmen in attendance a chance to ask any candid questions they had about his briefing or the Air Force, regarding such topics as the future maintenance/operations merger, air force support for traditionally Army-specific roles, and availability of the new Airman battle uniform.

The general, who recently pinned on his fourth star, also mentioned how pleased he was to be selected as the USAFE's commander.

"I am delighted to be on this team," General Brady said. "I am humbled by this opportunity, I have won the lottery. I take it as a sacred honor and privilege to serve with you."
