RAF Mildenhall hosts USAFE Bowling Championships

RAF MILDENHALL, England --  The U.S. Air Forces in Europe Bowling Championships took place at the RAF Mildenhall Bowling Center on Sept. 24-26. Erik Phillips, from RAF Lakenheath won the overall men's title with a total pin fall of 3,690. Suzanne Green, from Spangdahlem Air Base, won the women's title with a pin fall of 3,105. Both individuals have earned a place in the Air Force Bowling Competition at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, planned for January 2008.

During the three days, 43 bowlers represented seven bases including:
RAF Mildenhall
RAF Lakenheath
RAF Alconbury
Spangdahlem Air Base 
Ramstein Air Base 
Aviano Air Base
Geilenkirchen Air Base

In 792 games, 15,840 balls rolled, with only 11 mechanical problems. "This was a fantastic achievement for use of the machines," said Daniel Tavarez, manager of the bowling facility.
