Airman Convicted for Illegal Use of GTC

A Senior Airman from the 352nd Special Operations Group was convicted by a Special Court Martial Aug. 31 for using his government travel card about 60 times for unauthorized personal expenses between Nov. 24 and Dec. 28, 2006.

Specifically, the Airman used his GTC to pay his personal cellular phone bill and to eat at restaurants. He also used it more than 50 times at an adult entertainment club.

In total, he made unauthorized charges totaling nearly $4,300.

In addition to making unauthorized charges, the Airman failed to make any payments on his GTC from Nov. 24, 2006 to April 16, 2007. As of Aug 3, the outstanding balance on his card was $3,943.87.

The Airman was sentenced to 60 days confinement, three months hard labor without confinement, and reduction to the grade of E-2.
