Col. Marshall (Brad) Webb, commander, of the 352nd Special Operations Group relinquishes his control of European Command's only "Air Commando" unit assigned to the theater June 29.

In a change of command ceremony officiated by Lt. Gen. Michael W. Wooley, commander, Air Force Special Operations Command, the reins of leadership will pass from Colonel Webb to the 352nd SOG's current deputy commander, Col. Brian P. Cutts.

The troops not currently deployed from the unit will gather at Hangar 814 at 10 a.m. to witness the transition of command. Members of the 100th Air Refueling Wing and Team Mildenhall are welcome to attend.

The change of command ceremony is very short, lasting no more than a few minutes. However it's rooted firmly in military traditions dating back to the middle ages when the banner of command was presented to a newly-designated commander thus ensuring an unbroken succession of leadership for a particular unit.
