Patience was the key as the 727th Air Mobility Squadron defeated the 100th Logistics Readiness Squadron's team 1, 2-1 in intramural soccer at the Northside gym April 2.

The AMS team started its game against the LRS team by playing some neat soccer, and they were rewarded nine minutes into the game when Pete Webb tucked the ball away in the bottom right-hand corner of the goal to give them the lead. The 727th AMS team went on to dominate the rest of the half but failed to put away their chances.

Half time:
100th LRS - 0
727th AMS - 1

The second half began as the first, with the 727th again preparing to build up patiently from the back and creating some good chances for themselves. However, the LRS team kept plugging away and seven minutes in, Oscar Figueroa slid the ball home through a crowded defense to tie the game.

The AMS players didn't panic, continuing to play their passing game and at 15 minutes in, they scored the winning goal. A nice pass from Pete Webb was coolly put away Mike Dedousis.

Final score:
100th LRS - 1
727th AMS - 2

"A good control game" was 727th AMS Coach Mike Dedousis comment after the game. Although he said, "we fell away a bit in the second half."

Nevertheless, this was one coach who was not going to feel any pressure from the media.

How could he? He scored the winner, right?
