RAF Mildenhall senior leaders pay tribute to Victoria Cross winner Rawdon H. Middleton

U.S. Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Michael Venning, 100th Air Refueling Wing command chief, and Royal Air Force 92nd Squadron Leader Alastair Balmer,& RAF commander, paid a small tribute ;at the grave of Pilot Officer Rawdon Hume Middleton VC RAAF at Mildenhall, England, Nov. 24.

The tribute was to mark the 79th anniversary of the action that saw Middleton posthumously awarded the Victoria Cross (VC). This is highest award for gallantry in combat that may be presented to members of the United Kingdom and Commonwealth Armed Forces and was the first to any serving member of the R.A.A.F in World War II.
