Members of the 95th Reconnaissance Squadron recently gathered to remember and honor their rich history since the activation of the 95th Aero Squadron on Aug. 20, 1917, at Kelly Field, Texas. Since 1917, the 95th RS has played a vital role in nearly every major conflict, with one of their most notable roles being as a bombardment squadron in the Doolittle Raid of 1942. The 95th RS is a component unit of the 55th Operations Group at Offut Air Force Base, Nebraska, though they are currently assigned to RAF Mildenhall to conduct information gathering flight operations throughout the European and Mediterranean theaters.
