Bystander-intervention campaign: Would you ‘say something?’
U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. David Persons, 488th Intelligence Squadron airborne cryptologic language analyst, “says something” to U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Sonia Toro-Valles, left, 100th Security Forces Squadron operations support, and U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Candice Oliver, 100th Force Support Squadron military personnel customer support supervisor, during a surprise “Say Something” demonstration Nov. 20, 2015, at the Bob Hope Community Center on RAF Mildenhall, England. “Say Something,” the newly created bystander-intervention campaign, provides real-life scenarios of inappropriate behavior in public settings to test Team Mildenhall’s ability to step-up and step-in. The skits performed range from a minor disagreement in the wrong setting, to inappropriate behavior with sexual overtones, and are designed to encourage everyone to step-in and stop the event when necessary.
