Why is serving in the Air Force important to you?
Serving in the Air Force is important to me because it helps me feel a sense of accomplishment and fulfills a higher sense of duty. I am the first person in my family to serve in the military, so I feel proud to put on a uniform that represents my country.

What accomplishment during your Air Force career are you most proud of?
I am proud of the fact that in the short time that I have been in the Air Force, I have worked alongside many different coalition nations and their militaries. I am also proud that I have the opportunity to live in England and help strengthen U.S. and U.K. relations.

What are your personal and/or professional goals?
My personal and professional goals coincide with my desire for higher education. I hope to gain as much knowledge and experience as I can while serving in the Air Force to become a more valuable asset and all-around diverse person.

What is your favorite part of your job?
My favorite part of my job is being a part of the Air Force Special Operations component community.  I assist in providing serviceable defensive weapon systems to operators who are capable of conducting special operations anytime and anyplace.

How does the individual portray that core value?
"Senior Airman McDermott is truly a superb Airman," said U.S. Air Force Master Sgt.  Sharome Rudolph, 352nd Special Operations Maintenance Squadron CV-22 Weapons section chief. "He is always eager to accomplish his tasks and the first to act when there is a job to be accomplished. In preparation for an upcoming training exercise, McDermott prioritized and completed numerous inspections on specialized weapon systems equipment. He ensured eleven weapons were ready to deploy and capable of providing vital protection for the CV-22 Osprey and its crew."
