The Exceptional Family Members Program developed a new two-day camp for RAF Mildenhall's exceptional family members scheduled for December 2014 and January 2015.

The camp is designed to give exceptional family members a friendly environment with peers of similar interest while learning different engineer practices.

"It's open to exceptional family members and their siblings," said Elisabeth Leath, 100th Force Support Squadron EFMP family support specialist from Can Field, Ohio.

Each day of the camp is split into two, two-hour sessions. The classes in December are for children between the ages of 6 to 9 years old. January's classes are for ages 10 and above.

"There will be a total of four hours of instruction for each class and will be split up between two sessions," Leath said. "Each session the class will be given a challenge to complete."

The first session consisted of attendees constructing miniature motorized vehicles and racing each other with their finished products.

Leath said she hopes the children who attend the camp will walk away with an idea of what engineering is and how fun it can be.
