The Northside Fitness Center is scheduled to close Dec. 28, 2014 for six months.

The fitness center will be undergoing renovations to the heating, ventilating and air conditioning system.

"Basically the building doesn't have air conditioning in it now, but they're replacing all the windows and the ducts to get better airflow within the facility." said Master Sgt. Latosha Brown, 100th Force Support Squadron sports and fitness flight chief from Cedartown, Georgia.

During this time a shuttle bus will be provided to those on base without means of transportation to the Hardstand Fitness Center.

"The already existing flightline shuttle runs from the northside to the southside of RAF Mildenhall." said Steven Randall, 100th Logistics Readiness Squadron distribution manager from Brandon, Suffolk, "During the gym closure we have established an incidental stop close to the southside gym. Military members may use this at any time to get to and from places of duty and/or for an official appointment."

While the Northside Fitness Center is completely closed, the Hardstand Fitness Center will be open during the following hours:

- Monday to Thursday: 5 a.m. to 11 p.m.
- Friday: 5 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Saturday and Sunday: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Goal/Family Days and U.S. Holidays: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Once parts of the Northside Fitness Center reopen, the Hardstand Fitness Center hours will return to normal.
