‘Bloody Hundredth’ members’ grave marker returned to Thorpe Abbotts
Mark Howell, 100th Air Refueling Wing historian from Odessa, Texas, recounts the story of the Sept. 28, 1944, mission flown by U.S. Army Air Corps 1st Lt. Raymond Harney, B-17 Flying Fortress pilot, and his bombardier U.S. Army Air Corps 2nd Lt. Warren French Oct. 24, 2014, at Thorpe Abbotts near Diss, England. Base leadership traveled to Thorpe Abbotts to return a grave marker originally from Germany memorializing the two Airmen, as well as to discuss wing improvement strategies.
