Starting in August, there will be opportunities for Team Mildenhall members to volunteer for the Community Crosswalk Program.

The Community Crosswalk Program is a tri-base partnership between Department of Defense Dependent Schools, organizational leadership and the community to create a safe environment for children who walk to and from school or bus stops in the mornings and afternoons.

"Any adult community member, private organization, unit, squadron, or group may adopt a particular crosswalk for a time frame," said Katy Clark, 48th Mission Support Group School Liaison assistant from Beaumont, Texas. "All it takes is an hour of a person's day to show up and ensure the safety of our children.

No prior experience is needed and the volunteer opportunities are available throughout the school year.

"Volunteers will pick up and drop off equipment at designated locations. For safety purposes, we ask that equipment be used properly and reflector belts be worn," said Clark.

"We would like to encourage anyone interested in volunteering to assist children in getting to and from school safely," Clark said.
