Why is serving in the Air Force important to you?
Serving is important to me because I was too young to do anything when the attacks on 9/11 happened. With my father being a former New York City policeman, I felt this was a way for me to do my part for my country as well as honor my father.

What accomplishment during your Air Force career are you most proud of?
I am most proud of being selected to accompany the 7th Special Operations Squadron to Normandy for the commemoration of D-Day!

What are your personal and/or professional goals?
My goals are to obtain a professional doctorate in law and to deploy.

What is your favorite part of your job?
I enjoy the fact that I can potentially be the last person who the crews speak to before they embark on their missions. The information I give them not only helps keep them safe, but could potentially save their lives.

How does the individual portray the core value?
"Senior Airman Allan Otero always seeks out challenges, whether it's his daily job of supporting two special operations platforms and their crews, or post-secondary education," said Tech. Sgt. Richard Brown, 7th SOS NCO in charge of intelligence operations from Chicago. "Most recently, he donated countless off-duty hours toward the 7th SOS 50th Anniversary ceremony. He helped organize it and raise more than 10,000 pounds, much of which was donated to charity."
