Why is serving in the Air Force important to you?
The Air Force has provided me with a life I didn't expect, and it's important to me to continue to give back to it every day. I can honestly say when I joined I didn't have any intentions of making this a career, but it has grown on me and I couldn't see myself doing anything else at this point in my life.

What accomplishment during your Air Force career are you most proud of?
Although I have had a lot of proud moments since joining, I feel that making master sergeant is the one I am most proud of. In a way, it encompasses all of the other accomplishments I have had along the way in one.

What are your personal and/or professional goals?
Personally, I am currently working on my master's degree in aviation management and would like to have that finished in the next couple of years. Professionally, I am hoping to get a special duty position leaving this base and make senior master sergeant before I retire.

What is your favorite part of your job?
Learning, both professionally and personally. No matter how long I have been in, I continue to learn something new every day. I feel that when I stop gaining knowledge is when I will know my time is coming to an end in the Air Force.

How does the individual portray that core value?
"Tech. Sgt. Wayne Persico goes above and beyond in ensuring success in the daily missions within the squadron," said Master Sgt. Elizabeth Crist, 100th Maintenance Squadron first sergeant. "Persico steps in and leads from the front like with the Knucklebuster Awards, Mayfair Bazaar and booster club events. With the help of his wife, Lindsey, they have provided numerous meals to events like the single Airmen dinners, squadron appreciation meals and meal trains for Airmen in need. Persico personifies Service Before Self and is a highly valued member in the 100th MXS!"
