PRESS RELEASE: USAFE announces media outreach events for bomber deployment Published June 5, 2014 RAMSTEIN AIR BASE, Germany -- U.S. Strategic Command recently announced a deployment of B-52 Stratofortress aircraft into the U.S. European Command area of operations to train and integrate with U.S. and allied military forces in the region. Yesterday, June 4, the deployed aircraft arrived at RAF Fairford, U.K., to begin a nearly two-week deployment. Media Day U.S. Air Forces in Europe is announcing a Media Day for agencies interested in covering the deployment. The Media Day will begin at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at RAF Fairford. During the event, media will be able to interact with B-52 aircrews and deployed leadership and visit a B-52 on display. Media should contact USAFE Public Affairs by 4:30 p.m. local time Friday, June 6 to participate in the Media Day. Registration is required. Media Flight Opportunities The 100th Air Refueling Wing Public Affairs office at RAF Mildenhall will conduct KC-135 media flights on Wednesday, June 11 and Tuesday, June 17. On these flights media members will be able to capture images and footage of the KC-135 Stratotanker refueling the B-52 Stratofortress in midair. The media flights will begin and end at RAF Mildenhall.
