Why is serving in the Air Force important to you?
Serving in the Air Force is important to me because it gives me the opportunity to work, go to school and serve my country at the same time.

What accomplishment during your Air Force career are you most proud of?
I'm most proud of my deployment to Kandahar, Afghanistan. I learned so much and it gave me an opportunity to perform the mission I was trained for.

What are your personal and/or professional goals?
My personal goals are to run for the Olympic Development in the 2015 Penn Relays and possibly the U.S. Air Forces in Europe track and field team. My professional goals are to make staff sergeant this year, and then start the process of applying for officer training school.

What is your favorite part of your job?
I like having the opportunity to work for such a great organization, and go on multiple temporary duty locations around Europe. In my career field, we are able to be stationed wherever they fly aircraft, so that's pretty much any Air Force base out there.

How does the individual portray that core value?
"I have had the pleasure of observing Senior Airman Jesus Lua's dedication and competency to do outstanding work," said Master Sgt. Andriea S. Cook, 67th Special Operations Squadron Aviation Resource Management superintendent and first sergeant from Andrews, South Carolina. "His work ethic and stellar leadership characteristics are constantly recognized by squadron leadership. He is a hard worker who tackles any task he has to perform. Lua is an extremely professional Airman. He is known as the "go-to Airman" in his squadron. His superior leadership skills and tireless work ethic truly make him a standout performer in which he was recently recognized as the Air Force Special Operations Command's League of United Latin American Citizens Excellence Award winner, the 352nd Special Operations Group National Organization for Mexican American Rights Meritorious Award winner and Airman of the Quarter. Lua has proven himself to be a subject matter expert in his current position and shows great desire to progress into a rank above his peers."
