RAF Mildenhall consolidates dining facilities

RAF MILDENHALL, England --  The 100th Force Support Squadron Hardstand Café is scheduled to close April 4, 2014.
The final meal service at the flight kitchen will be the midnight meal from 11 p.m. April 3, to 1 a.m. April 4.

All meals -- including flight support, ground support and midnight meals -- will be served at the Gateway Dining Facility beginning at 6 a.m. April 4.

The centralization of food operations will allow the 100th FSS to enhance the variety of meal options.

"Consolidating both dining facilities will not only realign food service operations with mandated Air Force Manpower Standard Food Operations but will also make best use of our assets, allow the mission to continue across the base and provide potential savings of up to $100,000 per year in labor, maintenance and repairs, and operational costs," said Capt. Johnathan Colley, 100th FSS Sustainment Services Flight commander.

Ground support meals are still available for authorized personnel unable to attend scheduled meal periods at the Gateway Dining Facility, by placing orders two hours in advance.

Parking spaces outside the flight kitchen deck will be designated solely for flight or ground support meal pick-up to allow for prompt service.
Effective 6 a.m. April 4, the Gateway Dining Facility hours of operation are:

Monday through Thursday
Breakfast -- 6 to 8:30 a.m.
Lunch -- 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Dinner -- 4 to 6:30 p.m.
Midnight Meal -- 11 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Friday
Breakfast -- 6 to 8:30 a.m.
Lunch -- 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Dinner -- 4 to 6:30 p.m.
Midnight Meal -- Closed

Saturday, Goal Days, Family Days and U.S. Holidays
Brunch -- 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Dinner -- 4 to 6 p.m.
Midnight Meal -- Closed

Sunday
Brunch -- 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Dinner -- 4 to 6 p.m.
Midnight Meal -- 11 p.m. to 1 a.m.
