Team Mildenhall will observe on-base Halloween trick-or-treating from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 31, 2013.

During this time, 100th Security Forces Squadron members will conduct Operation Pumpkin Patrol, and will "walk the beat" through base housing. All security forces personnel will wear reflective vests or belts, and they will carry flashlights.

Enlisted and officer housing areas will be the primary locations for trick-or-treating this year. Those not participating in trick-or-treat activities are advised to turn off their front porch lights.

The 100th SFS Police Services office urges parents to have children look for security forces personnel should they need assistance. As a reminder, young children should always have adult supervision to ensure no accidents or injuries occur.

The following guidelines are provided to help ensure a safe and happy Halloween:

· Wear bright-colored or reflective clothing

· Carry a flashlight or glow wands

· Have a parent or other responsible adult inspect all treats prior to eating. A good rule is, "When in doubt, throw it out."

· For maximum visibility, cross streets at designated areas where there is good lighting.
Children can also ask 100th SFS members to escort them across the street.

The 727th Air Mobility Command Passenger Terminal is available to X-ray candy prior to consumption for base ID card holders only. For more information, call DSN 238-7420 or commercial 01638 547420.
