Press Release: U.S. Air Force aircraft to participate in Arctic Challenge Exercise

RAF Mildenhall KC-135 Stratotankers and RAF Lakenheath F-15C Eagles and F-15E Strike Eagles are scheduled to participate in the Arctic Challenge Exercise Sept. 16-26, 2013, in Bodø and Ørland, Norway to reinforce cooperation between the 100th Air Refueling Wing and the 48th Fighter Wing as well as promote interoperability between the U.S., Norway, Sweden and Finland militaries.

The Arctic Challenge Exercise is a realistic combat training exercise designed to test the abilities of the U.S. Air Force and other nations to operate together in the same air space toward specific aerial combat goals.

Aircraft will fly from two bases in Norway and are expected to include various U.S. Air Force F-15 models, U.S. Air Force KC-135 Stratotankers, Norwegian Air Force F-16 Falcons, Finnish Air Force F-18 Hornets and Swedish Air Force JAS-39 Gripens.

The 100th Air Refueling Wing Public Affairs will coordinate media requests to the on sight public affairs officer. Upon request, phone interviews, stock photography and film footage can be coordinated.
