A military working dog alerted base security officials during a routine security search of a vehicle at approximately 8:30 a.m. Aug. 7, 2013.

The vehicle was a delivery truck. The truck driver has a pass granting access to base, but is still required to pass through a vehicle inspection.

During the inspection, the MWD detected potentially harmful substances in the vehicle. Immediately, and according to standard practices, base security officials halted all inbound traffic through the Main Gate and worked with Ministry of Defence officers to close the A-1101 outside the gate for safety purposes.

Following a thorough search of the vehicle, security personnel resolved the incident and restored all traffic to routine operations.
