Angel Tree relies on generosity of others to bear gifts for those less fortunate

The “Angel Tree” is located inside the RAF Mildenhall Base Exchange food court. Organized by the First Sergeants’ Council, this program helps Airmen by ensuring their children receive Christmas gifts. Any base ID cardholder can donate gifts to the Angel tree; just take a paper angel tag from the tree, which has basic information on who the gift is for, and purchase a gift. Everything is kept completely anonymous and only general information is provided. Those wishing to donate should place their gift unwrapped, with the tag attached, into the large box beside the tree. Bird in Hand Gate reopens

RAF MILDENHALL, England -- The Bird in Hand Gate, Gate 17, opened Feb. 17, 2012, and base members can now use the gate to leave base. It is a vehicle exit only, but pedestrians (with base ID cards) can enter and exit there. Gate 15, the Main Gate is now vehicle and pedestrian entry only. The construction, which cost £1.3 million for the Lincoln Road East area, consisted of changes including a new Delta barrier and bollards, new entry control point, alteration of the road layout and addition of pedestrian crossings, electrical works and signage.
