3rd AF commander visits UK bases
Staff Sgt. David Ordway, 100th Civil Engineer Squadron firefighter, briefs Lt. Gen. Craig A. Franklin, 3rd Air Force commander, Ramstein Air Base, Germany, on the role and responsibilities of the fire department Nov. 15, 2012, at RAF Mildenhall, England. The general expressed how impressed he was with the fire station, trucks and the firefighters’ fitness program. His visit included tours of the 100th Logistics Readiness Squadron Fuels Processing, 100th Maintenance Group Sheet Metal, 100th Operations Group and a static display of a KC-135 Stratotanker. While in England, the general also visited RAF Fairford, RAF Croughton, RAF Welford, RAF Lakenheath and the Cambridge American Cemetery at Madingley.
