351st EARS maintainers ‘strut’ their stuff

A KC-135R Stratotanker, deployed from the 100th Air Refueling Wing, is elevated off the ground May 24, 2013, at Moron Air Base, Spain, allowing Airmen to remove and repack the main-landing gear on the right side of the aircraft. The struts on the main-landing gear use pressure created by hydraulic fluid compressing air to cushion the aircraft when it lands. A flawed seal on the gear was discovered, and could have rendered the gear ineffective if it had been left unfixed. (U.S. Air Force photo by 1st Lt. Christopher Mesnard/Released)
