New security barriers save time, money, environment
Located on the corner of Lincoln Road May 7, 2013, is one of 15 new “green” barriers installed around RAF Mildenhall, England. Replacing the old, plastic water barriers, which were degrading in the sun and starting to leak, the new vehicle access control barriers are solar- and wind-powered. They filter and control vehicles, and provide force protection to the base and fulfil all the criteria needed for the base barrier plan. (U.S. Air Force photo by Karen Abeyasekere/Released)
