Firefighters test life-saving skills

From left, Senior Airman Zachary Peterson, from Salt Lake City, Utah, and Firefighter David Ives from March, Cambridgeshire, 100th Civil Engineer Squadron Fire Department firefighters, complete casualty care on a simulated trapped victim inside an upturned vehicle March 25, 2013, at the fire training area on RAF Mildenhall, England. Firefighters responded after a mock lightning strike hit a facility and started a fire. A person ran out of the building and got hit by a car, which then hit another car, causing it to overturn with three simulated victims inside. After prioritizing their response – the vehicle accident was a risk to life and the building wasn’t mission essential – the first responders rescued the simulated victims from the vehicle and transported them to safety until medics appeared on-scene.
