RAF Mildenhall leadership helps CDC celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday
Col. Daniel Merry, 100th Mission Support Group commander, reads Dr. Seuss, “My Many Colored Days,” to children in the 2-year-old classroom March 1, 2013, at the 100th Force Support Squadron Child Development Center on RAF Mildenhall, England. March 1 is Read Across America Day, which is a nationwide observance coinciding with the birthday of Dr. Seuss Geisel, the author of many popular children's books. In 1997, the National Education Association pushed for a special day to celebrate reading throughout the United States. This idea proved to be a popular one; the first Read Across America Day was held March 2, 1998. (U.S. Air Force photo by Karen Abeyasekere/Released)
