Cambridge ceremony commemorates 68th Annual Memorial Day Observance

MADINGLEY, England – The RAF Mildenhall Honor Guard performs a three-volley salute during the Madingley American Cemetery Memorial Service in Cambridge May 28, 2012. The salute is also performed at military funerals and originates from the European dynastic wars when the battle was ceased so the dead and wounded could be removed, and three shots were fired to signal that battle could resume.
