Team Mildenhall participates in USAFE Job Shadow Day
“When they were about to start the pressure, they said the noise would be loud so everyone around there, including me, covered our ears. The loud sound never came but they asked us if we wanted to pull the trigger to make the machine move and gave us ear muffs,” said 4th grader Liam Wallace, a photojournalist for the day. (A hydraulics mechanic from the 100th Maintenance Squadron demonstrates how high pressure hydraulic fluid can actuate a KC-135 Stratotanker hydraulic component using a hydro-test stand. The demonstration was put on for a group of base children during Job Shadow Day here April 27, 2012, and visiting children got to flip the lever to actuate the test stand. Learning to be a photojournalist, like his father who works at the 100th Air Refueling Wing Public Affairs office, 10-year-old Liam Wallace captures the demonstration on his camera.)
