Construction on new running path well underway

RAF MILDENHALL, England – A contractor digs out soil to lay path edging during the new running track construction Feb. 23, 2012. The running path will be more than 2-miles-long and almost 6-feet-wide, with the rubber surface being made from recycled car tires. This is one of five projects that have also benefitted from using recycled concrete from the demolition of Building 538. According to the 100th Civil Engineer Squadron, 10,000 tons of materials have been recycled to date, saving about $314,000. The running path is scheduled for completion in June.
