CDC children press ‘Pinwheels for Peace’
RAF MILDENHALL, England – Riley Robertson, 5, daughter of Michele Robertson, 100th Force Support Squadron, presses a ‘Pinwheels for Peace’ into the ground as part of a National World Peace Day event held at the RAF Mildenhall Youth Center Nov. 17, 2011. According to their website ‘Pinwheels for Peace’ is an art installation project started in 2005 by two Art teachers, Ann Ayers and Ellen McMillan, as a way for their students to express their feelings about what’s going on in the world and in their lives. The event was held by the youth center to support military troops, hope for their safe return and raise awareness of peace in many different situations.
