School children lay homemade poppy wreaths, crosses to remember those who lost lives
BECK ROW, England -- Olivia Clouse, 7, places a cross and poppy at the war memorial in Beck Row Nov. 10, 2011, in honor of veterans who have lost their lives in past and present wars. Children from the RAF Mildenhall Youth Center, who attend RAFs Lakenheath and Feltwell Department of Defense Dependents Schools, made the crosses and poppies, as well as a cardboard and paper poppy wreath, which they laid at the memorial near RAF Mildenhall. Nov. 11 is Armistice Day -- also known as Remembrance Day -- in the United Kingdom, and Veterans' Day in the United States. (U.S. Air Force photo/Karen Abeyasekere)
