World War II veterans visit RAF Mildenhall for first time in 66 years
RAF MILDENHALL, England -- This book is an original flying log book from the 1940s, owned by flight engineer and second pilot, Stan Franks, formerly of 15 Squadron, RAF Mildenhall. The log book was a record of flying information including date, type of aircraft, pilot, flying hours and details of the mission. Franks returned to RAF Mildenhall -- for the first time in 66 years -- Sept. 14, 2011, when he visited the base with Jim Gooding, a former rear gunner, who was also stationed here in 1945.
