488th IS captain receives prestigious NAACP award
LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Capt. Carsten Stahr, center, 488th Intelligence Squadron, holds the NAACP Meritorious Service Award, which was presented to him by Gen. Norton A. Schwartz, left, Chief of Staff of the Air Force, and Hilary O. Shelton, Senior Vice President, Advocacy and Policy, Director, Washington Bureau at the 37th Annual Armed Services and Veterans Affairs Awards Dinner, during the 102nd Annual NAACP Convention, July 26, 2011. The prestigious award, which until this year has only been presented to higher ranking officers and admirals (and one sergeant major in the Army Reserves) throughout all branches of the Department of Defense, was presented to Stahr, who was a co-recipient of this year's award, along with Brig.
