Surviving storym weather with aircrew, water survival training
LOWESTOFT COLLEGE, England -- A U.S. Air Force aircrew member pulls himself along on his back underneath a parachute in the special-purpose pool at Lowestoft College July 14, 2011. The water survival portion of survival, evasion, resistance and escape training provides aircrew with practical experience and helps them gain confidence with the vital tools they would have to use in a real-world situation. The parachute training is vital, as on evacuation from an aircraft, if the parachute lands on the survivor in the water, it could drown him or her if the life preserver isn't inflated and that person doesn't know how to get untangled from the parachute.
