Crack detection: An NDI story

RAF MILDENHALL, England -- A KC-135 Stratotanker jack-mount is dipped into a hydraulic remover during a fluorescent liquid penetrant inspection July 28, 2011. The hydraulic remover is used to eliminate any excess penetrant from the jack-mount that was applied to it earlier in the inspection process leaving only what is left in any possible cracks.
