100th AMXS Airmen keep the wheels turning
RAF MILDENHALL, England -- Master Sgt. Charles Pope, 100th Maintenance Squadron non-commissioned officer in charge of repair and reclamation, uses a bead break machine to break the bead in-between the wheel and tire of a KC-135 Stratotanker here June 20, 2011. The bead breaker machine is the only way to break the bead, which is the seal that results from the pressure that is caused when air is first applied to the tire after it has been attached to the wheel.
