Cementing the base's future
RAF MILDENHALL, England -- Paul Wiseman, left, and Peter Kent, both contractors, prepare to pull a razorback screed roller across wet, freshly-laid concrete to smooth it out and prepare for the next stage of the construction project March 24, 2011. The area is being turned into a concrete batching plant, allowing concrete to be mixed from scratch on RAF Mildenhall, rather than it being pre-mixed at a location off base and brought here on trucks. This will reduce the carbon footprint as well as save money. (U.S. Air Force photo/Karen Abeyasekere)
