Firefighters give commanders insight into fire training
RAF MILDENHALL, England -- Firefighters from the 100th Civil Engineer Squadron assist Nigel McCurdy, right, Forest Heath District Council strategic director and 100th CES honorary commander, use a pressurized hose to put out a fire on a mock aircraft engine at the live fire trainer here March 17, 2011. Mr. McCurdy and Col. David Doe, 100th Mission Support Group commander, spent time training with the firefighters to get an insight into what goes into their training and the job they do. The two men donned protective equipment weighing about 70 pounds and helped put out a fire, as well as going into the smoke house and performing a simulated rescue, when they had to bring out a mannequin with the aid of one of the firefighters.
